I'd say it to the parent if the parent was actually a rat - the rodent that is.

Hi

Most certainly not.

You can have a bit of fun though.

One of my Ex Staff, a huge bear of a man and as ugly as sin brought his daughter into the office one day.

She was a stunningly attractive young lady in her early 20's.

I asked her if she was adopted.

She thought that was hilarious.

Re: Would You Tell Someone, Their Baby Looked Like A Rat?

bloody norah, thats a bit harsh.

I would never, ever hurt any new mothers feelings by telling her her baby looked like a rat. Mind you I doubt the mum believed it anyway because Mums always think their child is the best looking baby ever, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that.

Unless the person was having a joke I think it was a horrible thing to say.
If he wasn't joking he needs a slap round chops with a wet fish

Re: Would You Tell Someone, Their Baby Looked Like A Rat?

Perhaps your daughter's colleague should have thought how he might have felt if someone had said the same to him regarding a child of his!

No doubt that might have left him feeling less than good and possibly very upset, if he had any feelings of course that is. Often those who are like that have no consideration for other's feelings anyway, to have said that in the first place!

Re: Would You Tell Someone, Their Baby Looked Like A Rat?

I would not feel the need to make any comment of what a baby looks like

This (the rat comparison) could all be a case of "chinese whispers". As the information / quote / description gets passed down the line of people the original message is lost.
May just have been a bit of banter between pals. The office I work at is full of banter even in today's political correct word
