That's a better idea.
Fresh air, exercise, companionship, and not £10 p.h!

I agree with what Rhian said: " Friends are people you know well and support you in times of need
Rent a friend should be renamed Rent some company."

Not necessarily a better idea.

As I am paying,I would be the leader.

Where as a group walk...they choose the walk path.

We are all different..how boring if we all liked/thought the same.

Each to their own.

I agree Rhian! I like to get to know people before I consider them to be friends, and it can take a number of meetings before you know that you like them as friends.

However, if Pauline is looking for somebody to accompany her to events, I am sure it is easier to do with another person, rather than looking like "Billy no mates" and going on your own.

I was once told 'A friend is someone who knows everything about you warts and all and can still put up with you '

I don't think that is something you could rent or buy.

I do everything on my own.without "Billy"....I just found this online..which I think is a great idea.

Makes sense to me, Meg.

I wouldn't want someone to have to put up with me, just because they were being paid to.
To me, that would be a professional escort, not a true friend.

Would you honestly want a friend who knows "everything" about you,Meg?

That would scare me,plus it's not my style.

Yes Mags it does but it costs a lot more than £10 an hour.

Some people hire an escort for formal occasions like a dinner or ball when being accompanied is almost obligatory.

It's gone from rent a friend.....to true friend...whose looking for true friendship?

I think, acquaintance would have been more appropriate .instead of friend.

Pauline I have had friends who knew everything about me sadly due to circumstances I have lost touch with both of them .

Now I don't feel the need to have any friends paid for or otherwise, I am best on my own
