Re: Lycra clad cycling groups

Running them down with my car is my worry, safety is what we want for all road users. Tolerance is great I vote for tolerance but if they are under my wheels I will be very unhappy and they could be dead.

If a driver drove dangerously to stop people overtaking that would be just as stupid! If I kill or injure someone even if it's their fault I would never forgive myself and probably never drive again, that would ruin two lives!

Re: Lycra clad cycling groups

Well after creating a website for my local cycling club I would think 2x about upsetting cylists. The guys in the club are all ex rugby and built like brick s*** houses. God help you if you upset any of them as they were not known for being very tolerant whilst on the pitch - far from it.

Amazing how far these guys ride on a saturday morning though - anything up to a 100 miles!

Didn't we hear on the news recently that cyclists are rated more desirable by women than film stars ?

Sorry Mark, but can't agree with that in the slightest. My ex husband was a rugby player anyway, so I do know what they can be like.
Thing is -
a) Intimidation would only go against them for a start

b) In this theoretical incident, whoever was responsible for being on the road without due care and attention would be at fault, whether this be the cyclist or the motorist. The fact that just because the cyclist played rugby has got absolutely nothing to do with it, it certainly doesn't make him automatically right nor any less of an idiot!!

So many members here remind me of Saga Norén. Wonder why that is.
