Re: Typing style

I wouldn't know about my own way of typing but I am the same talking as I am writing, of course I speak with a Dublin accent but then again one's mind has no accent it's international, sometimes even heavenly, depends on who (not saying whom, ever) I'm conversing with. (smiles and twinkles eyes to the skies). I never try to imagine an accent when I'm reading a post from someone on the other side of the world, doesn't even enter my mind where they are from, the words are the same as here more or less. I may as well say this while I'm here, people all over the world are OK, it's governments that put all sorts of barriers in the way.
I do think that you can learn a lot about a person after a while, for example who can take a joke and who can't, I find that useful as I can then avoid the serious ones and stay out of trouble, hopefully.

Say if six people from six different Countries wrote a 250 word essay about their dog, you read the essays, could you tell which Country each of the writers came from?, they don't have to speak, they write with their mind and if no slang words were used it would be impossible, wouldn't it? would it?.

Re: Typing style

Oh I forgot to say they would be writing in English, most Countries teach English in the schools now.

As a fully paid up member of the Pedant Society I abhor the abuse of the ellipsis; three (or at the end of a sentence, four) dots is quite sufficient.

Re: Typing style

Floyd made a lot of capital from Syd's demise, but that is probably over simplification, ensuing lyrics would probably have been born out of some sort of distress, or maybe not.

Re: Typing style

It's the guitar riff more than the words for me! I tend not to follow groups' private lives, just like music, loved T Rex but could tell you very little about them, also Donovan always loved his music, saw a documentary about him, so disappointing!
