I swore blind at the age of 13 I was never going to have a boyfriend, get married or have kids. I was laughed at and told I would soon change my mind. Two years later I met my husband to be, the only guy in whom I had shown any interest at all, although there were a number of boys who seemed interested in little me. We married when I was 19 and the rest is history. I suspect if I hadn't met my husband I could well have stuck to my pledge at the age of 13, having never been remotely interested in any other guy since then.

We once went all the way to Opatija in Yugoslavia (Now Croatia) on a coach.

I said 'Never again' but having failed to get Tony on an aeroplane, the following year we went to Italy on a coach.

(I did eventually get him to fly but he always hated it)
