talk about meeting site members

One site, no longer in existence, I got talking to a member in the USA. They knew we were going to Florida for a holiday so they decided they wanted to meet us. Talk about nice people, they travelled for 3 hours by car, that must be some kinda record.

I met someone from this forum when she came to Somerset on holiday, she was lovely, we had a laugh.
It's a shame she doesn't post now though.

Re: talk about meeting site members

I've met 2 ladies in 'real life' who I met through the internet and we've kept in touch. One lady is from Worthing and we are going to see Hugh Jackman together in May for my birthday. The other is a lady from Durham, she's been up my end twice to meet me and she's coming up again in August, we are off to see Les Mis in Bradford.

Through the net I befriended a married couple from Canada and a man in Washington DC, we've all been chatting since netmeeting days about 25 years ago. We exchange phonecalls and Christmas cards.

I also have met 2 ladies in Texas online who live next door to each other, I met these ladies whilst playing a facebook game 7 years ago and we chat daily.

Would dearly love to meet them in 'real life' maybe on day.

I had a net friend, a lady who lived in Morrow, Ohio and we had a connection, she was a beautiful lady and we talked most days sharing much laughter and also our sad times. Unfortunately she died, she had pancreatic cancer and the last time she messaged me was to tell me she was being admitted to hospital. Her husband messaged me one day to tell me his wife had passed soon after. That was 5 years ago and although I never met this lady in person I knew she was my friend and cared about me as much as I care about her. I miss her dreadfully.

RIP Linda.

It’s always intrigued me as to how someone would meet up...say I arranged to meet a forum member in a coffee shop. How would we know each other?, wear a red rose perhaps?, carry the days copy of the times?, or perhaps a pre arranged code word...that could be embarrassing, going up to complete strangers saying “ the geese have eaten the broccoli “”, or we could have a name tag with our forum names, ?.
