Re: Talking over you!.

Conversation, to my mind is someone speaking, then pausing to allow the other person to respond, give their opinion, and tell their news. Some go on and on, not even pausing to take a breath let alone let other people give input.
I have calls where people ask how I am, then don't bother to wait for a reply before telling me how they are. I have one who just launches into everything they want to share and at the end I realize they didn't even ask how I am.
I have taken to saying on being asked how I am, I reply, "not too good but I won't bore you with it" hoping they might think they might be boring too!

It doesn't work!

Usually, my brother in law or anyone who dominates the call and you can’t get a word in edgeways. Whilst still in radius of the phone, you just do your chores and let them rattle away.
You still listen but it’s good to utilise the time!

Re: Talking over you!.

Frustrating isn't it .

I have one friend who I ring on occasions and I manage to get no more than 12 words out and she takes the conversation . Her daughter and I both get fed up with it .

Basically it means she isn't interested in my chat and does not listen as hers is more important.

I've even told her she can talk a glass eye to sleep but it makes no difference
