Weather Forecasts.

Hi

Often wrong.

I have been using the BBC ones, but have now changed to this.

https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/radar

It is free and is accurate to 500 metres.

Just put in your postcode to see what is about to happen in real time.

Ooo, I do love a good radar image. Very nice. I am envious of all that cool rain. It's mostly been hot as Africa here.

Re: Weather Forecasts.

I usually check with the Met. Office for weather reports, have to say they are usually reasonably accurate, for this area anyway. This new one on the link above though is definitely very detailed, I will have to get my head round all that's on there – another steep learning curve!

That keeps the 'old grey matter' challenged and active though!

Best way is to look out of the window. You can usually see 500 metres into the sky ahead.

Not this morning though I couldn't do that, at the unearthly hour I was awake and up and about it was still pitch black out there!

You have a point, Baz. What I meant was in daylight you can normally see what the clouds look like and if it's sunny up there. If it looks like rain I'll wear a coat and baseball cap.
I treat all weather forecasts with a pinch of salt.

Re: Weather Forecasts.

I don't think BBC use the met office these days. Personally I use the met office app and that is pretty good for 3-5 days. It gets a bit less accurate after that. The other day I said to my husband as we drove along the app said it would start raining at 8pm and suddenly it seemed out of a blue sky it started pouring down on us at exactly 19.59 I thought that was pretty impressive

The AccuWeather app that is built into my Samsung phone is pretty good.
