Nope. If my wife or me are faced with bumping into someone we haven't got the time or inclination to converse with we simply say "hi" and walk on.

If chased after, which did used to happen soon after we moved here, we simply said sorry but right now we don't have time to chat and went on doing what we had been doing.

Life's too short to let people get in the way of what you need or just want to do.
