Boycott Crackers

It is an actual thing
A campaign to get as many people as possible to boycott Christmas crackers in an attempt to stop more plastic waste

I don't like them particularly but they can make the dinner table look more fun and festive.
I'm considering making my own and filling them with a proper gift
Rolled up socks maybe... gloves... a writing pen...a memory stick..

Any ideas peeps?
What would you like to receive as a gift in a cracker?

Shall I bother with the hats?

How about miniature bottles of booze? For the grown-ups obviously.

That's a great idea
Maybe I'd wrap them up in plenty of tissue paper in case they go flying in the crackless pull!

Re: Boycott Crackers

I made my own last year - Molton Brown do miniature bottles of shower gel for males and females which are often sold in sets at reduced prices, which I then split up.

Re: Boycott Crackers

I buy my crackers in the sales after Christmas, I think I'm ok for another three Christmases.

Re: Boycott Crackers

We haven't had crackers for a few years now but I'm not sure how boycotting them will reduce plastic waste seeing as they are made of paper and card. Plus, I wouldn't want to put people out of jobs at Christmas time.

It's the cheap plastic "gifts" inside dongles
I suppose if you're buying good quality crackers with proper useful objects inside then you're good to go!
