Nero I know we have all been there but He did not just slip up calling her a bigot he said it was ridiculous letting Mrs Duffy talk to him blaming Sue!! I think she is his press secretary.It IMO was not just a slip of the tounge or something said in the heat of the moment. It sounded to me that he was put in a situation where he did not want to be. He just wants to look good.
Azz, even though there are millions of Brits living abroad is that our problem?
Surely it is a problem for the country where they are living and should not be used as an excuse to allow million of immigrants into our country.
The only immigrants who should come into this country IMO are those who benefit the country, not those just looking for handouts which Mrs Duffy was hinting at.

But he didn't ask her that and latter in the car he sounded like he thought she was refering to all immigrants and all foreign students.

Her actual concerns seem to be about the large numbers of eastern European immigrants who, certainly in my area, have had the effect of putting large numbers of British workers (white, black and Asian) out of work, while putting a huge strain on the local socio-economic infrastructure (health, housing and education). I have several friends in the building trade (of all races) who have lost their jobs over the past three years and have been replaced by cheaper eastern European labour. I think that concern about this situation is completely legitimate and is nothing whatever to do with bigotry - only common sense.I think that Brown's response was typical of a political class which believes that it has a god-given right to govern, and which holds its employer - the electorate - in utter contempt. Puts me in mind of a comment made by the German playright Berthold Brecht - something along the lines of, "The people have lost the confidence of the government. In view of this the government will elect a new people!"

Very good post.
The BNP leader is standing in Barking against M Hodge a radical Socialist, hell of alot of Labour supporters will be asking the same question that this Lady was asking Brown.
Looks like Nick Griffen has a lot better chance of becoming the MP for Barking there are a lot of "Bigots" in Barking

Analising the coversation with Mrs Duffy and the body language, plus his off air comments it is so very obvious that he did not 'mis-understand' (as he put it when apologising) her questions.Some of the Comments heard:-
On Air, It is good to have met you, you are wearing the right colour.
Off air, Who put me with that woman, it should never have happened,
It was ridiculous, who did it.
She is a bigoted woman who used to be labour.
On Air, I have apologised and she has excepted that I misunderstood her.
I was motified to hear the bigot slur. ( I bet he was, Oops there goes my career)
We now hear that Mrs Duffy is suddenly soon to go on holiday!!!
