You can rewire using just one junction box, ( large square one) , you just need a feed in ( L/N usually from the consumer unit) then run a twin and earth from ,say the kitchen light, and same from the kitchen switch ( Mark Which is which) then the same for each room in the house, then, as I was thought, red of the light, black of the switch..

Quick update

First time last night to see how good they were at night time. Against an old fashioned pendant light hanging down ( even with 100 w bulb) these new lights are so much brighter. Being able to turn each individually to where I wanted most of the light was a huge bonus. I did put in the GU10 5.3 Lumen cool white LED bulbs having made sure that they were allowed on the fitting. Some fittings won't allow that so worth checking.

Yes, that is something I intend to do at some point. When I can be bothered to lift all the loft insulation.

That's not to do with the junction boxes.
