anyone for salad?

Just made a lovely salad. I always make a mean salad but this tastes as good as it looks.

If anyone would like to know what's in it see below.

Chopped spinach
Cucumber
Baby Plum Tomatoes
Spring Onions
Red & Yellow Peppers diced
Chopped Beef Slices (any meat could be chopped up)
Grated Cheese
Cooked Pearl Barley
Cooked Giant Couscous
Tin Sweetcorn
Crab Sticks (or Prawns) I used Crab Sticks

When salad all chopped up add the following:

Olive Oil
Lazy Garlic
Smoked Paprika
Basil
Mixed Herbs
Turmeric
Mint Sauce
Salt
Black Pepper
Natural Yoghurt

Toss the salad in all the herbs and spices and voila, one very tasty salad.

Enjoy!

Excellent! But I would do without the garlic.

Re: anyone for salad?

That's a lot of ingredients and it looks nice in the picture.

But personally, I'd keep it simple and therefore not include the following ...

Lazy Garlic
Smoked Paprika
Mixed Herbs
Turmeric
Mint Sauce
We have simple tastes, love olive oil, med type food.

Chopped Beef Slices (any meat could be chopped up)
Could be substituted with anchovy fillets. Hmmm ... just a thought.

ARRRGH ... thanks for the recipe.

Yeah, I get it's not for everyones taste although I have converted my 86 year old dad, he was always a simple taste man when Mum was alive, he loves my salads, even the garlic! It never upsets his tummy.

Do you know, I've never tried anchovy, i might just try that, thanks for the idea.

Yes, some people don't like crabsticks I think they are like marmite, you either love or hate them. Funny thing is I don't like crabmeat. Its all crap in crabsticks but we still really like them.

Try it without the crabsticks, I promise, it's soooo tasty.

Re: anyone for salad?

You can get anchovies in little jars. A strong flavour, salty too. So maybe try chopping up just a couple into your salad.

They also add excellence to a beef stew.

Never thought of adding them to beef stew, d00d, will give it a try. Love them on pizza.
