Can anyone recommend a good toaster?

The toaster is going to be toast. I'm fed up with burnt offerings and almost setting the kitchen on fire when it's on it's lowest time/setting.

I thought some of you lovely people must have a decent toaster that I can go out and buy to replace my years old shiny chrome disappointment. I don't want high tech wizardry just something that works without sending smoke signals to the neighbours!

Re: Can anyone recommend a good toaster?

I'd like to recommend one of these ....

https://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/brand/dualit/classic-2-slot-toaster-copper-643098

You know exactly where you are with this olde world (retro) machine. Couldn't be simpler ... the lever/knob up/down, no spring, clockwork turn knob for desired time. No gimmicks, little crumb draw at bottom, looks cool, comes in different colours

Thanks Meg! Those are definitely more within the price range I was thinking of.
