They used to prefer old houses/buildings, but I think they have adapted to newer houses too now. I used to work in an old farm house & the scullery was full of them, I was told to leave them be. My Mother had one in her kitchen for years on & off, it was female & gave birth to lots of baby Cellar spiders, which were safely placed in other buildings.

Scoop it up in a bowl or something web & all, if it still isn't moving then it is dead.

a week or so ago I had one in my bed. I felt something crawling on my leg and when I pulled the quilt back it scurried across my bed eeeeeek. Ive never moved as fast. To this day I don't know where it went.I agree with Morty, it#s a skinny one, it needs fattening up, you mustn't be feeding it right LOL
