That's OK, they still have an on-line order/delivery service we could use.

Re: Shopping today.

I decided to do a quick shop because I am almost out of cat food and I heard it is in short supply.... I drove through to Morrison's in Skipton expecting large crowds but what a surprise there was just me and about a dozen or so other people...

I didnt hang about and I was out super fast . Maybe people have got the message or perhaps they have so much food and no more storage available

Re: Shopping today.

Over the years I have become a online shopper so its very rarely I visit the local superstores.
I am actually surrounded by stores Aldi's Lidl's Sainsbury's Tescos x2 all within 5 mins driving.
Tried to order a delivery last week from Tescos but was to late the next opening is around the end of April.
So I ordered a collection which I thought was for tomorrow between 4-6pm.
Our lass pointed out when she went to add on the order tonight, that it is next week Tuesday arrrrrrgh.

Anyways I thought just to cover my butt I would go online again and see if Iceland will deliver this week.
Yes Wednesday between 12-2pm for disabled and over 65's I fit both category.
All sorted.

Re: Shopping today.

That's ok as long as workers are allowed to go in the warehouses and someone is there to process orders in places like Curry's, Amazon.
Are they key workers?
Grocery ones are, not sure about others.

Good morning Longfella! Trying to register for home deliveries
yesterday in melton mowbray as we have never tried this method of
shopping before, but we couldnt even enter the tesco site at all after
several tries, so we tried iceland and to our surprise andnrelief we
registered with no problems straight away and found that they are
only catering for us old and vulnerable geezers over65 etc, and
could do next day deliveries for those that qualify!
It seems that the older you are, the more priority you get, bloody
good scheme in my view, nwhat do you think?
So we now await our first delivery at 12 o clock today! and just in
time on some things!
Unfortunately no stock of toilet rolls as it seems the locusts have
eaten the whole countries stocks and created a famine?
Hard to believe this is england anymore?
I dont know if this scheme is icelands policy countrywide but l am
happy it is so in melton and think it needs to be instituted on a
national level, thumbs up for iceland 👍👍👍

Watch that. We do all our grocery shopping (and most other stuff) on line. But delivery slots are becoming harder to get.

Yes DM Iceland are tops at present for me to.
But I would also persevere with Tesco's.
Try clearing your computer of all browsing data I used to have problems at first with Tescos but now its logged into my favourites and all is good.
With Tescos unlike Iceland you can get many more household goods and medicines if you require them. You can even give Morrisons a try or Sainsburys if they deliver in your area.
Good luck mate and I hope you and I both are not dissapointed when we get our deliveries.

Re: Shopping today.

Drove up to Waitrose half an hour ago the people were queuing all around the car park and it’s a large car park (I presumed ) because they are only letting people in in small numbers .
Will try again later on .

Re: Shopping today.

I've just walked to the village centre and back for exercise.

The large car park was almost empty so I decided to pop into Home Bargains - that was almost empty, too, but of people only - the shelves were being restocked by the staff and were filling up ..... I got most of what what I wanted but there was no beer ..... so I settled for cider .....
