Re: Seeing the International Space Station

Just read we've got another Super Moon coming on the 19th Feb.
10% bigger than a normal full moon it said.

Hope it's a nice clear night.

Venus, Jupiter and the Moon were once so close but now seem to have gone their separate ways

Re: Seeing the International Space Station

Some information for Friday!

Last one of this batch of sightings

Chance of Seeing ISS Friday the 8th at 6:24pm for 3 minutes

Chance of seeing the International Space Station Friday the 8th at 6:24pm for 3 minutes

As per usual to see it, go outside and face South, the ISS will be a bright steady white light that crosses the sky from West to East.

Re: Seeing the International Space Station

I hadn't bothered setting a reminder for this as it's been cloudy for ages and the forecast was for more of the same.

I just went to the conservatory for dog food when I realised I could see the moon.

Hooray! Clear skies!

But.....I'd missed it by 3 minutes

Re: Seeing the International Space Station

It was clear here again but it was probably the faintest I have ever managed to see it at

Pardon my ignorance, but how long will it be circling round up there? Will it be there for ever?

How long has it been there already?

Mups, as far as I can tell it's been there since 1998 when they started building it, was manned in 2000 and has remained manned ever since and is expected to be there until 2030 at least because that's how long the US funding has been approved for.

Re: Seeing the International Space Station

I'll have a read of that, thanks Nicol.
Thanks also, for posting the new timetable, but they are a bit too early for me this time.

I wonder if you'd still see it in daylight?
