no one has to die.
Any country will defend its borders .
Any country will do exactly what israel is doing but probably with less humanity.
They don't have to go throw stones burn tires and shoot guns at israel .
They can stay at home in gaza their own place with their chosen leaders.
The leaders that tell their people to go and take their children to the border fence to die.
Then wail their hypocrisy to the world.

The Hebrew nation never extended that far.
And how long before islam was invented was this?

Yet the muslims insist that the area should be theirs.

I see that Egypt and Jordan are staying out of the frame on this one. They are as pissed off with the Palestinians as the rest of the world (Jeremy Corbyn and Momentum excepted)

If they want to kill each other maybe we should let them, and do the rest of the world a favour.
Bloody religion is at fault.... no matter how much they all deny it!
I'll go with that .... they're as bad as each other.
I fail to see how anyone can wholeheartedly support either side to the extent of dismissing one sides atrocities against the other.

Actually she didn't. It's easily verifiable by doing some of your own research, you should try it some time. Instead your only comeback is to mock and take the piss which just makes you look deficient in any serious discussion.
Do you actually know the reasons why both sides reckon they have a claim to the area?

They won't achieve anything, of course. The Israelis and, of course, most of us in this country will just ignore them.

The Israelis are very used to attacks on their democracy (by those who disagree with democracy) and have successfully defended themselves for decades.

They don't pussy-foot around like we do. When they are attacked, they respond in kind. If the Gazans could only resist their drive to attack Jews, they would find life much easier.

There's absolutely no excuse for the number of dead. It's not like you have to shoot to kill, they could just shoot with a tranquiliser gun if they want to immobilise someone.

I said all along this was a bad idea and that it would rub salt in a wound unnecessarily. It will just make the beautiful city of Jerusalem more of a target for extremists. Pointless and stupid move.

Re: Jerusalem

I think it was Iain Dale who was discussing the situation and made a good point about the US's position in all this. The point was that making this move is a gesture by the US which could ultimately result in the US distancing itself from the real conflict while making this empty gesture to say they are on the side of Israel. So in line with the rest of Trump's policies it's America first but make friends by doing the popular thing. The theory is that the US wants to distance itself from the defence of Israel in the future. That this is a pacifier, something to be lapped up by those with influence but with no real substance.

Re: Jerusalem

What is the consensus on the events at Sharpeville ?

And also Kent State University while we are at it.

Are there any parallels in this latest shooting of unarmed people ?
