The pavement 'windows' remind me of the bottoms of glass bottles, old fashioned ones, in fact they probably were once & must be original to the buildings. Like opaque cobbles.

I like the way each piece of glass develops a different colour, lovely browns and greys, yellows, amber etc. The photos don't do them justice.

They can be very pretty & strong too as the feet of hundreds must have passed over them, now & in the past.
