I don't care if that doesn't interest others.
Marge's brother and his wife bought a large wooded area near Plymouth and he enjoys flying his drone over there. As it's private land, he is well withing his rights as if anyone happens to be in there they are technically there without permission.

He let me have a go last year. I hadn't ever flown one before, but managed get it to come down and hover just above him so he could catch it. He was impressed (though didn't like to say so!).

www.inspireddroneimaging.co.uk

My website , short showreels on there and links to many YouTube videos so yes there are many places to fly and as a commercial operator I can usually gain permission to fly more or less ‘anywhere’... but the question was any drones in here not seeking permission from others to operate or validate ones interests

Re: Drone

Been around model aviation for years, never seen the leisure point of flying a Drone.

I see the word 'drone' and immediately think of that waste of space - Trump.

What? No conspiracy theory about them?

Re: Drone

I'm not a fan of drones at all, idiots fly them on the common where dog walkers have walked for many more years than they have been around and we are buzzed and more annoyingly they buzz our dogs regularly. My biggest win of 2018 was hitting one out of the air with my walking stick as it buzzed over my terrifies labrador. Very satisfying that was. It ended in bits I hope the person flying it enjoyed that as much as I did.

Just report them to the police and take a video of how they are being flown. What they are doing is clearly illegal. You can't fly drones within 50' of people and buildings. Again a reason the only real places to legally fly them is in wide open fields where there really isn't anything of interest. Unless of course you have your own private land and estate of buildings which you can fly around to your heart's content.

I think some people did report them, certainly signs went up banning it but as usual time anyone arrives the people flying them have gone.

Re: Drone

I have often wished I had one for video photography when I am travelling but I doubt I would ever get one.

Plenty of legal places to fly them here.

Actually I just remembered - I do have one in the house, my grandkids were given a $135 one for Christmas no camera though. They have done their best to destroy it but it is surprisingly hardy the only problem with this cheap one is that the battery only lasts about 5 or 6 minutes.

The only warning of battery failure is that the lights on it start flashing and you have about 30 secs to get it home and land it before the battery protection cuts in and it plummets. Sophisticated it is not.
