Mornign Nom. If you get one on loan from the Red Cross, you know it will have been properly overhauled and serviced for you, plus they will always come and mend it. I'd have thought that a better deal than perhaps buying a dodgy second hand one with no breakdown cover?
Most mobility shops have second hand things too, but I think I'd stick with Red Cross personally.
That way, at least you could get one alot quicker, even if you only keep it until you find one you want to buy, it would be an idea.

Thanks Mags and OG, things will well depend on Tuesdays visit to the Jobcenter who will try and force me to look for work or sanction me, despite my declining health.

Re: Rollator.

Nom, I'm pretty conversant with rollators as my husband had three, don't ask, which he used for a while. His best was a TGA which has quite large wheels. He also had three mobility scooters, which is another story. You need one with adjustable height to the handles, brakes, locking system, for stability, easily folding, larger wheels so you don't get stuck in pavement cracks and it can be used on grass, sturdy seat with basket to carry items and easily folded. You need to make sure all operations are comfortable to your hands and you can walk pretty well upright. Most places have disables access and with a rollators you can go up a couple of steps. You put the rollators on the top step, hold the brake to support you. You soon find ways and means.Any questions, please do ask.

The word jobcentre strikes horror,I briefly worked in one a very long time ago. My staff were well trained and tried to match one with a job. Things change-can you breath on your own? can you walk 10 yards, pass A1 -fit for duty Sir
