Re: soap bars to liquid soap

I use Palmolive in the shower since a friend told me she is allergic to all other soaps so I thought I would give it a try. Its lovely and creamy and gives a good lather even in our hard water.

I recently started using liquid soap in the wash basin and was surprised how much easier the basin is to keep clean.

It's true liquid soap keeps the basin cleaner but it gives me dermatitis on my fingers. I suffer terrible cuts. Since switching back to a plain old bar with no perfume they have been better.

Yes I found that which is why turning soap into liquid works so well for me.

Julie, do you yourself have a recipe for converting bars to liquid soap, please? I might give it a go sometime.

Thanks.

I found all I needed to get me started was the savvy housekeeper site http://www.savvyhousekeeping.com/how...uid-hand-soap/ only difference is I don't grate I microwave to melt it. Both ways work well. She has a recipe for dove if you follow her links too.

Thanks. I read this earlier. Do you add glycerine, if so, where do you buy it?

I have added it in the past but I don't now it doesn't seem necessary but if you do wish to use it your local pharmacy will have it also some supermarkets have it in the baking/cake decorating section for making icing.
