I tried saving £2 coins but soon spent them, before they reached £30.

The best money saving tip...

Before buying anything ask yourself do I really need it or do I just want it
If it is the latter don't buy.

You are right Meg, I don't REALLY need it, but I REALLY want it. Guess what? I bought it because I can afford it and it's a good thing to have.
Waiting for the next pension transfer to my account.

Leave the thread? Is that an order?
Nah, I'm sure you're joking.
Tell me, how much money have you saved up in your sugar bowl?

Blimey Jazzi, I only save 20p's. No wonder it takes me so long to save anything.

I think having money saps your inventiveness. I have a wad in the bank and I find most of my drive has gone. Not gonna give it away though. All I need is to focus on a LOT MORE MONEY and get things in perspective. I am skint really. Yeah, I can feel the desperation again making me think of all sorts of possibilities. I tell you being skint rocks: you feel alive .

Re: Best money saving tip ever

My Yorkshire mother often used the phrase "I can't thoil it." It's Yorkshire dialect for "I've got the money but I can't bring myself to spend it."

How Yorkshire is that?

I often use it myself.
