Cooking the chicken livers is easy. I simply dredge them into seasoned flour, then into beaten egg, then back into the flour and then into the oil and I fry them until they're crispy and crunchy on the outside, but well done on the inside. Some people like their livers still a little pink, but I don't. I love rare steak, but I think things like chicken livers should be fully cooked.

The zucchini (courgette) I cut into slices at desired thickness. Then I dip the slices into beaten egg, then into bread crumbs (today I used panko) and then pan-fry in a small amount of oil until they're golden. You can use any type of bread crumbs you wish. Fried zucchini is one of my favorite summertime treats.
Well the fish cakes were HORRIBLE

My own fault, I know ready made anything is going to be horrible but I was seduced by these yesterday. May as well ate a box of dust they were that dry and bland

When I make fishcakes I add chopped capers, gherkins, a hard boiled egg, tarter sauce etc to them so they are bursting with moisture and flavour

Im copying your livers and courgettes for using another day

That's too bad about your salmon cakes. But I agree that it's best to make your own. I've bought ready-made stuff like that before too and it sure looked better than it tasted. So when it comes to salmon cakes, crab cakes, etc, I prefer to make them myself.

Well, whether or not you're being good depends on the kind of chicken salad you're having. Chicken salad can rack up the calories fast, depending on what it's made with.

I'm having creamy chicken soup with seashell pasta and veggies and a tomato sandwich.

Cornish Pastie, mmmmmm. Love those things. My son's grandma is Welsh and has made them a few times. She doesn't make the traditional Welsh Pasties, though, with the jam and currants and all that stuff. She prefers the Cornish style pasties. I could eat those things on a regular basis. I need to start making them myself here at home.

Today for me I had a bowl of hot wheat cereal and a piece of toast. I've been having gut problems lately. Upset stomach and many trips to the bathroom, if you get my meaning. I've been under a lot of stress and it's wreaking havoc on my digestive system.

Re: OFF slimming club---open to everyone.

Sounds like fun

It's been hot hot hot here as well. In the 90's and 105-107 with the heat index. However, the last 2 days have been in the 80's with lower humidity, so we're getting a small break from the heat before the temps go back up again.

I hate summer

I didn't make the Pastie Linda, it was a bought Gengsing Cornish Pastie which consists of Meat and Potato, nice lot of pepper in it.
