Re: An elected head of state???

Hi

Never in my view.

The process would be taken over by Politicians, so restricted on who we vote for.

You should look east UJ to see what happens.

The Ukraine, an elected Head of State, corrupt as can be.

Turkey, an elected Head of State who then controls the Media and locks up those who disagree with him.

If we had elections now, who would we vote for?

Farage, Corbyn, Boris, Cameron?

No thanks, stick with what we have got.

I have looked East, and even South-East - Germany, Poland have 'Presidents' without any bother, so too does Hungary, Roumania, Czech Republic, & Slovakia!!!

As to your remarks about politicians, the simple expedient of debarring politicians or former politicians can easily accomodate that.

And how much money do those countries get from people flocking to see their Head of State !! . Nothing.
What a stupid ridiculous idea. Monarchy tourism £535 million year. Nice little earner that those countries do not have and never will have. i just wonder what those who so easily condemn the royals would be like in the same position, they are the sort that would spend , spend.
the crown estates brought in £230 million pounds to the treasury, the Queen received £32 million from the state, so a benefit to the state and the U k taxpayer of £198 million . so she was hardly a burden on the poor British taxpayer

Have to chuckle at you.

Germany got rid of their King and Got Hitler.

Russia got rid of their King and got Stalin.

The two biggest mass murders of all time.

But that's in the past won't happen in the UK will it.
