"Divorce Bill"

Just a few short weeks ago Theresa May was saying we were willing to pay £20 Billion but no more. Today in the Express it says she is now willing to pay £53 Billion.

Hands up all those who think the EU will settle for this now they know how easily she gives in. It further says that her cabinet now has a majority in favour of Brexit, so how come they would let her get away with it and keep rolling over and saying how much more would you like !!!

Re: "Divorce Bill"

As we weren't married I'm fed up of any divorce bill, being paid. We IMO should pay what we owe up to day we leave no more no less. Then take our pensioners onto our books and sort that out back home.

Hi

Unfortunately it appears that Cameron signed up to fund the EU Budget until the 31st December 2020.

If that is the case, we will have to pay what we signed up for.

Would that not be a contract broken by us signing the papers to leave, I seem to recall it says after we leave we have no further bills to pay.

This,

As far as I'm aware, this has been scrutinised by lawyers and we owe nothing at the point of leaving.

It would also be interesting to have a breakdown of said alleged bill - seems they make it up as they go along imo.

Hi

Well it appears that the EU are sticking with it and still not moving.

It will be interesting to see who blinks first.

Re: "Divorce Bill"

The British Parliament could simply repeal the six EU treaties. They should do that as a matter of course. But since they consist mostly of EU Stooges they are unlikely to do that or to follow the will of the people. Repeal the treaties and we can be out of the EU immediately without involvement by the EU. Equally we could declare the six treaties null and void under the British Constitution

Re: "Divorce Bill"

Hi

Who is right and who is wrong will be tested in the International Courts.

The decision will be determined there.

If we are so sure of our Legal Advice, we should not pay them a penny.

If we are not 100%, we pay up.

Yet you still refuse to respond to the point that the EU have not given us a breakdown of what they think we owe and why we might owe it.

Until they do that there is no bill to pay.

The bill simply does not exist.

Not if we're out of the EU it's not. You just want to see he UK punished.

It's a bit like when you buy a tv licence. You sign up for the whole year. But if you opt out after 6 months........you get a rebate. You don't pay for TV services you aren't receiving!
