Re: Your Ancestry
My husband has traced his back to the 1600s he has a slave master ancestor...not something to be proud of but interesting. I haven't done traced mine but the kids bought me one of those DNA kits that you send off and it says I'm 59% English the rest being a mix of Scottish and Irish.Re: Your Ancestry
I have been researching both my family and my husbands for a few years now ,I find it very interesting, I've got back to the 1700's in my tree and 1600 in my husbands. both sides of the family originated in northern Ireland. Quite a few emigrated to Australia, and USA..Re: Your Ancestry
Re: Your Ancestry
There are books about my dad's family. They were nobility with a castle and everything. My dad's grandfather and uncles left Scotland at the time of Mary Queen of Scots. She threatened to behead them. Sometime after that they came to what is now the U.S.. Dad was Scots-Irish, German, English and French. Mom's family was German, English and French. Mom's families written history only goes back about a hundred and fifty years. I'm an American mutt.
