Re: Lord Bath died!
Many years ago my wife and me were walking around the formal gardens of Longleat.I had a balzer on that had my regimental badge on it.
A gentleman came up to me and asked about the regiment. Were you a regular or National Service?" has asked. "I was a regular"
"I was national service, they called me up, put me in the Scots Guards and gave me the rank of Colonel. Why they gave me that rank I never knew as I was no soldier".
It was then I realised I was talking to Lord Bath himself.
Yes, a great gentleman, the likes of which are very few and far between.
