Re: SVT'S and Cardiac Ablation.

My other half is an intensive care Charge nurse and works 14 hour shifts. He has to take a microwave meal in as there's never any food left for them when they eventually get a break. As with the catering, the car parking and indeed the land the hospital was built on none is owned by the hospital and the private company can say on your bike at any time.. He has people whinge at him cos it costs them to park and yet it costs him ten pounds a shift to park too He has to buy his food as well.. Its not what it was and bringing back Matron is only a miniscule part of the solution.

Yeah Cassie darlin' - these bloody PFI contracts never were any good - Thatcher (phth, phth, phth), Major, Blair (Phth, phth, phth) & Brown have a lot to answer for.

Our Hospital has just applied for planning permission to demolish the old buildings (some of them are over 150 years old) and build a brand new hospital on the site. It was said that the Hospital trust would NOT be using PFI to raise the money but would utilise its own resources.

Re: SVT'S and Cardiac Ablation.

Thanks Meg......

Finally had the procedure done on Monday at Blackpool Cardiac Clinic.Brilliant consultant and staff. It wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be,only took an hour and a half to find the faulty node and burn it away. The worst bit is having to lie still for six hours afterwards.Have a huge bruise in the groin where they inserted the catheters but nothing more.Would recommend it to anyone whose life is ruled by SVT's......

That's great Shirley what a long wait you have had though not knowing how bad it was going to be.
I hope you have no more problems now

Shirley darlin' -I'm pleased everything went OK for you and you are now well on the way to recovery. Notwithstanding this was 'keyhole' surgery, nonetheless it was surgery per se and you need to take things a little more gently for a while.

Re: SVT'S and Cardiac Ablation.

Hello Fridge Magnet, I have AF with flutter(whatever that is and I was on Warfarin but had some bleeds so had to come off them. I was told you can have a procedure where they shock your heart into a steady rytham but it seems i have had it for years so they wont do it.I think its an age thing.
