Knife crime

I was just on Facebook and was horrified to see a lad had shared a page called Blade City. It showed a video of a box of what looked like very dangerous knives and weapons and I can't believe people are allowed to sell such weapons and advertise on Facebook or the internet even.

We live in very violent times and it's no wonder that there is such violence on our streets when there are videos such as these out there.

Re: Knife crime

I'm not even going to look at this, Queenie.

It should never, ever be allowed - full stop.
Hopefully the police will be told and Facebook will also be punished.

The weapons are irrelevant. Banning or restricting sales will do zilch - a blade has been and always will be the simplest weapon to fabricate.
Also, other knives such as kitchen knives etc will always be available.

The problem is the deterrent - there is none with this spineless bunch of useless cretins we have in charge.

Re: Knife crime

Hi

I carry a knife, it is in the boot of my car, in my tool box.

I also carry a knife when I go fishing, on my person.

I am not going to stab anyone with it.

I do not carry a knife in an Urban Area, that is the difference.

When I lived in Prees, most people carried a knife on them, an essential tool in a Farming Community.

Nobody has ever been stabbed there.

Knives are a Gang and Drug Dealing thing.

Re: Knife crime

Local bootsale has a stall selling very nasty looking knives and other weapons, police must know it's been there for years.

Its just a bit worrying at how easy these knives can get into the wrong hands.

I have a real fear of sharp knives, I don't know why. Obviously I have one or two but I really don't like them but for chopping some veg they are a necessity.

Yes Swim, when I was on the farm I usually had a fold up knife in my pocket too, and sometimes I still have when I am gardening too, but we aren't selling them by the box full on Facebook, are we, which is what Queenie was on about!

Yes I know Fender m'duck, but as I just said to Swim, I don't consider that the same as selling a box full at a time on Facebook.
Queenie said there were knives and other 'weapons' too.

I am not familiar with the law on this, but don't you have to produce some sort of proof of age now? I wonder if they have to do that on Facebook before they buy?
I can't see that would make a scrap of difference if anyone wanted them for the wrong reasons anyway.

I don't really understand the need to put loads of different knives into a box. They did look quite menacing
