Re: Up The Garden Path
The last hole is being dug for a 5ft concrete slotted post, I will then make a custom panel that will slot into next doors slotted post, job done, no more impromptu blocking the dogs attempts to go on an adventure. New fencing on the left of the garden before the finishing touches are made.Re: Up The Garden Path
Quick question Spitty. Are you not a little concerned about leaf/detritus build up between your new panels and the existing fence next door? I know those timbers on the slotted post are designed to be removable, but as the metal shed is going there, it's not clear how you're going to achieve this feat of maintenance.Re: Up The Garden Path
Hi Dex, the trees and foliage will be cut right back before the shed construction is commenced, but, the panels will be slide in effectively so, can be raised by a foot and any build up removed, there will be a two foot gap between the fence and shed. One small problem I have is, if you look at the wooden post by the trellis in the Mataspike,I have clearance at the bottom for the gravel board (Just about) but the post is leaning our way and obscures free passage between the slots at the top. A slab will be cut to form the narrow gravel board then the panel will be constructed in situ, to fit round the leaning post, it will be seamless from our side.Re: Up The Garden Path
Probably not Dex but, at that point, there is a level difference a couple of feet with no retaining wall at that point so, rather than run the risk of having to make good their side I thought this. The width between the concrete posts is 750mm, the gravel board will fit as will the std bottom bracing timber, the centre brace will involve me cutting a small notch into the timber post to allow for passage, the top bracing timber will come in two parts either side of the wooden post possibly with a one screw fixing into the post through the corresponding featherboard.Thread Tools | |
