I have just heard the news on the radio, Muddy.

Sad news, although 103 is an exceptional age.

She will be remembered for the support she gave to our soldiers throughout WW2. Thank you Dame Vera.

R.I.P Vera. She did so much for the British morale during the war and she will always be remembered along with her poignant songs. Plus, she has managed to get out before the snowflakes had her apologising for being patriotic.

As a child, towards the last years of WW2, I felt that she had the perfect singing voice and was singing perfect songs.

Just the right touch - "We'll meet again" "There'll be blue skies...."
