Bowel Cancer

I've neglected to respond to a letter offering me a kit to use then send back to them.

Wouldn't any bowel cancer have been picked up during my extensive tests this summer whilst I was in hospital for non Hodgkin's?

Or should I ask for a kit? I've never been tested but have had letters on my 50th Birthday and every year since. This letter is a reminder.

What should I do?

Re: Bowel Cancer

Because you already have cancer this could have masked any secondary developments in your bowel. It's a good idea to have the test as all you do is post it back. Phone up the number on the reminder and ask them if they could please send you a new kit.

Re: Bowel Cancer

My late sister had no symptoms of bowel cancer it was only discovered by one of those kits.
It's a very good idea to do the test.

Ok on a serious note I suffer know and again with IBS and had a number of tests 10 years ago which thank God came back all right, so I do this test and am relived that for the last 3 times since it has come back negative.

Re: Bowel Cancer

I've done the Bowel Cancer kit,a total of three times now, and it's very reassuring to be given a positive result.
