Gosh, it sounds horrific!
When I first got married we lived in a tower block in Bristol, teenagers would set fires in the bin room or throw lighted stuff down the rubbish shute. It was terrifying as the smoke would go up the shute and fill the stairwell.
I was so glad when we moved!
I don't think anyone especially with kids should live in them. They weren't built well.

Just been watching it, I feel physically sick.
Those poor people!
The reporters are ghouls! They should not be allowed to interview people who have escaped or eye witnesses to these terrible events!

Apparently the flats have all recently been reburbished - wonder if someone disturbed something they shouldn't have? It is an horrific incident - those poor people !

Terrible scenes this morning and lots of casualties.

I agree about the ghoulish reporters. Just watching a man being interviewed and breaking down in tears.

My thoughts are with all those affected.

So it begins.

It absolutely disgusts me.

The leader of Kensington and Chelsea council has said a "thorough investigation is needed" into the cause of the fire.

Councillor Nicholas Paget-Brown told Mishal Husain that any advice residents were given is "a matter for the London Fire Service".

When questioned about whether it was a matter for the council he said they will "always ensure" that the council's own properties are "inspected by the fire service and high standards are set".

Blame avoidance already.

I have news for this pillock.

The Fire Brigade, along with other Enforcement Agencies, have a Public Register of Enforcement Notices.

The Council has been served with Fire Safety Enforcement Notices for other Tower Blocks which it owns.

The legal requirement is for the owner to inspect and ensure that its properties are up to standard.

Oh My gawd those poor People,They're saying there were no fire alarms....horrendous.
