Remember.
REMEMBER
Snowmen in the garden,
Yule logs by the fire.
Church bells gaily chime
from the distant frosty spire.
Children’s happy laughter –
wrappings of silver and gold,
the tinsel covered tree
is a wonder to behold,
but, amid the merry feasting, a
thought filters through now and then –
does anyone still remember
the babe born in Bethlehem ?
There, in the depths of winter,
in a dirty cattle stall
was born the tiny child
whose life has touched us all.
He had no Yule log to warm him
as he lay in a manger of hay,
He asked only for our sins
that He might bear them away.
Not for Him tinsel or Holly,
and He never knew what it was
to unwrap a beribboned parcel –
His gifts were nails and a cross !
Remember him !
