VERY much so,spitty...but we kids ALL jumped off'em!
When I were butter lad,we used to leap off the cliff,swim out to a standing finger of rock we all knew as 'The Willy',climb it,then spend all day throwing each other off it,before swimming back,climbing the cliffs,collecting Puffin eggs on the way up,to take to matron so we wouldn't be 'leathered'. It honestly never occurred to us that mainlanders would think it 'extreme',it was just ''what we did''...Good times,spitty...good times...

On the Estate there were unwitting Jumpers, not a cliff insight, folks just waited, to see who jumped first.

Yes,it's a strange-but-true truth,that I met my friend of [now] many years as I pulled out of Merthyr Tydfil steelworks with a fully freighted artic...pulled into the side of the road besfore the bridge,as I needed a slash...and there,sitting in the edge of the railway bridge,was a young lass. Long story short,...I sat down beside her and she asked me wtf I thought I was doing. I answered "Well when you jump I'll have to jump first,to give you something soft to land on,otherwise you could get hurt"....and to this day,14 years later,we're still friends.
