I didn't see the programme - meant to record it but forgot. However, my view is - the lady in her 80s - jolly good luck to her!! I always had a plan to go wild in my old age (a la Jenny Joseph poem) after all, what has one got to lose, at that age, really?I am going to eat all the cream cakes I can stuff in my pie hole, have sex with anyone who is willing, and all in all let it all hang out. For at that age, I feel it really is "eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow....."
I did a lot of risk taking in my teens - hitch hiked long distance on my own - stuff I wouldn't want my own daughters to have done. But I learned - most people AREN'T out to do you harm. And if, at 84, one meets one who is - well, it might not be so very much worse than spending one's twilight days in a nursing home. (casting NO aspersions on nursing homes, but just no desire to be in one, particularly).
