My cell phone's been recalled!

Got a letter and mailer from my cell phone people yesterday; seems they're changing carriers and need to install some new software! Never heard of this; very annoying as it will be a week till it's back. And the odd thing is, I rarely use it, but feel lost without the security of knowing it's there in case my land line is out, or in an emergency! But they are giving me an extra 60 minutes call time ...not too helpful as I never exceed the monthly allowance anyway

That sounds odd to me but I don't understand half of these phones. I have a pay as you go phone, I only use mine for emergencies, I had my number taken away from me last year as I didn't use it enough!

First time that ever happened to me, and I'm on my third cell phone now. I have a Samsung, the simple phone without a gazillion applications ... it just makes phone calls!

You would think they could give you another one, till your is fixed...Must admit be lost without my mobile....

I have my land line; what about those people who just have the mobile?!! No phone for a week!

My mobile is only a pay as you go-only have it for emergencies but I would miss it if anything happened to it

Mine is pay as you go also, I don't use it much but like everyone else, I'd miss it if I didn't have it...

They're probably changing the rom chip DM, servers have different protocols, I would've thought that they'd have a better way of resolving this however instead of leaving customers with no phone.
