How Much Do You Spend On Eating Out Each Week?

Following on from Shrops .... How Much Do You Spend On Shopping Each Week? .... which I don't think is supposed to include the odd pint, cuppocinno, burger ....

How much do you spend, and where?

For us it's just a lunch once or twice a week, we haven't been out in the evening for years. Our lunches are little more than a sandwich, burger or whatever we find good value.

They say the cheapest place to eat is Borough Market ... enough free samples make a free lunch. And it's true.

We know a couple of Oriental eateries where you can get a bowl of veg curry & rice for a fiver.

McD is super cheap ... a double cheeseburger about £1.50 is a good start.

Brick Lane samosas and other delish spicy fried takeaway bits real cheap but it's takeaway and therefore nowhere to sit.

What do you do? I know pubs are always an option when you're in the country.

We sometimes go out for Sunday lunch .
It’s boring ( Sunday roast ) but beats cooking and sometimes the pubs have a good ambiance .

I never have to pay when l go out, my male friends are ‘old school’ and insist on paying! I do offer!

I like fish and chips from chip shops and occasionally KFC but l never eat in Chinese or Indian restaurants as I’m not keen.
I wouldn't touch a McDonald’s meal, l’m too young to die! Yuk!

I'm much the same as you, dOOd, and sometimes grab a bite lunchtime if I am in town shopping, but that's about it.
I can't remember when I last had an evening meal out.
I prefer to be home at night, especially in winter.

BY no means do we go out to eat every week. But when we do we usually spend between $50 to $70 I guess if it's a casual place. If it's a well rated restaurant in this city you would spend hundreds if not a thousand for a few of you. And even more if it has a recognised chef. We don't do that very often I have to say. Once in a blue moon for a special occasion.

Don't you just get a pie and chips? Popular when I was in OZ.

I agree with Artie, if I go out to dinner, the gentleman pays. It's just "a given".

For lunches, if a friend or two meets up for a brunch or a lunch, it will generally cost between $13 and $18 , depending what is eaten. That includes the tip, also.

I don't eat out daily or even every single week, but at times it has been once a week.

We hardly ever eat out. We got fed up with always having the hassle that the wheelchair causes.

Of course we have the occasional pie at the football or cricket maybe (Skip the chips) but we wouldn't call that eating out. I'm talking sit down on a chair at a table and all fancy and that with glasses, cutlery and napkins and everythink.
