Who has experienced retirement with an RV?

My DH and I are approaching retirement in the next seven years. There is so much to consider when deciding how to spend those retirement years. We love the experience of winters in Florida but love a change. We have discussed the thought of purchasing an RV and travelling. Any thoughts or experiences you could share...

I think anyone of my generation who watched the film Summer Holiday with Cliff Richards wanted to do the world in a converted London bus

My hubby and I are in the same boat. Retirement in the next 4-5 years. We love Alberta summers and BC winters. Wondering the same as you, buy an rv? Hubbys latest brainwave was to live on a boat rather than an rv....

Re: Who has experienced retirement with an RV?

I had to ask someone what a RV was
I presume you mean something like a camper van that
we call in the UK. Or in Frasier they had a Winnebago.
That would be great to be able to get around with
time on your hands and somewhere to sleep at night.
I have a friend who has a camper van and normally goes to
Portugal in the Winter. The only problems she seems to have
with it is if they turn up a little late after a long travel
and not being able to get in some place to park for the
night. Otherwise they have a fridge/freezer, cooker,
microwave etc and really enjoy their time away.
Hope you have a great retirement.

Robertav, yes that sounds adventurous!!! I guess I wonder how confining the change might be. In many ways you get to experience alot of wonderful places however even in some of the very nicest of rvs the living quarters are limited.
