Is banning serenas cat suit the same as banning the burka?

OR white over black?

Serenas black cat suit has been banned from the 2019 tennis open in France. Is she really being treated like a Muslim whos burka is banned?

they rules will not be as strict as Wimbledons who says everyone must wear white - even non- white skinned players!! - it's beginning to sound like white versus black - and all fifty shades in between!

As it doesn't obscure her identity then no, how can it be the same? However, it does look daft - so perhaps not so different after all.

Nothing at all to do with white Vs, black. the French officials would have done the same thing if the suit had been purple.

I'm not suggesting Gumbud is playing the "race card", but I expect various "big names" will.

Dress codes in sport, beyond team strips which are necessary, are ridiculous. Within a broad outline of not being off-putting to the opponent, what difference does it make?

I think it matters a great deal. People being who they are, will push the limits to "show-off". To do so in their private lives is one thing, to do so in a world famous event is another thing entirely. The French Open is a national showcase and the French have every right to set limits.

Restaurants have a dress code. Why not the French Open ?

Does that mean the women have to wear skirts?
That could start a whole new argument!

It is my experience that women wear pretty much whatever they darn well please. There are limits, however. Especially in a national showcase.
Imagine if men decided to wear cod-pieces.
