Co Enzyme 10 Supplenents - Anyone Take Them?

And if you have, did they do any good? If so, what good?

I took them for a month Gravitas, didn't notice any benefits so packed them in.....If you take statins (which I don't) they recommend that you take Co Enzyme Q 10 as statins deplete it from your system.

Oh yeah. I read that last week - and promptly forgot it.

That is reason on its own why one might take it.

I took them years ago. I thought they made a difference but it was probably psychological. Whatever benefit it is it's marginal in my experience. You're better off looking a diet.

I thought the same many years ago. But perhaps the point made above changes all that - even if one can't discern any obvious difference.

Yes I take 200 mgs in the morning. It helps my heart and circulation.

Grace is on them, it helps her medication working prescribed by her specialist. He didn't suggest they would be good for everyone just that her medication wouldn't work so well without.

Why take synthetic supplements when COQ10 is naturally found in great foods?

Oily fish:
Fish like salmon, tuna, sardines, and mackerel are high in antioxidant CoQ10 and are also high in healthy fats.

Organ meats:
Liver and kidney meats also have high levels of coenzyme Q10.

Vegetables:
Veggies like spinach, broccoli, and cauliflower naturally contain high levels of this antioxidant.

Legumes:
Peanuts and soybeans are the best non-animal sources of the substance.

Just eat right, that's all there is to it !

Well in Gracie's case because she is on high dose prescribed, she'd need to eat two or three bags of spinach a day to take what she needs.

But I'm unsure if others need it or not as you say eat a decent diet may be enough.

Realist....
There was a documentary on TV a couple of weeks ago dealing with 'Free Radicals' and the need for antioxidants to remove them from the system.
It turns out that the theory about 'Antioxidants' was discovered by a bloke in America in the fifties. He was involved with a company who manufactured some health product containing (among other things) life extending 'Antioxidants' and nobody since has checked his findings....Until now!

There have been a few studies in British universities who have found that, instead of lengthening life expectancy, antioxidants actually reduce longevity by removing the free radicals. It could be that the theories about 'Antioxidants' could have been started as a sales pitch started in the fifties that nobody bothered to investigate....

I still have a recording of the documentary, so will provide details later when I've time to study it.....
