Amazon Echo Dot

Alexa has arrived!!

I asked her to play some music and she played from "my Amazon"..........a track which I have been playing a lot recently, is in my music library, included in at least two playlists in My Documents and is on Windows Media Player. So where is Alexa accessing this track from?

Re: Amazon Echo Dot

Assuming that you have an Amazon prime account, you also have access to 2 million songs stored on Amazon's server. (Cloud) You can create your own playlists using an Alexa app on your mobile phone. Some music won't be available unless you subscribe to Amazon total music.

It's generation 3.
Can I download the Alexa app on my laptop and create playlists on that? There's some music I'm practicing at the moment and I'd really like Alexa to play it on demand.

Re: Amazon Echo Dot

Is the ring on top of the unit glowing red? This means that the WiFi connection has been lost. Unplug the router and Echo device wait for twenty seconds then plug the router back in followed by the Echo.

Re: Amazon Echo Dot

Thanks Judd - and a very happy Christmas to you. Super son is now here with another Alexa and is (hopefully) setting them both up!! To answer your question, no the unit is glowing blue......and sitting next to the router which appears to be working okay.
