The earliest one I used to watch was The Golden Shot with Bob Monkhouse. And The Generation Game was a staple of our Saturday night viewing.
3-2-1 with Ted Rogers, Blankety Blank, Celebrity Squares, The Price Is Right, Strike It Lucky.
More recently Deal Or No Deal (until Noel Edmunds became so nauseating I couldn't stand it any longer). Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was superb.
Currently it's Eggheads, and The Chase. Bradley Walsh is an excellent quiz master.
The CHase is my current favourite although as I have mentioned, I am sick of Bradley telling contestants they are good playres when they are obviously not.
There was also a forerunner to The Crystal Maze which some may remember.
It was called "The Adventure Game" and similarly had contestants being put in challenging rooms solving puzzles. It was part hosted by Moira Stuart who later became a much loved newsreader
The final challenge was always to beat the Vortex across this criss-cross grid
