Re: tomato plant

Blimey, looks like it's grown a bit wild there RS!
Sure it's not a Triffid?

What variety is it?

Re: tomato plant

Bazza impressive but...
the main thing is not the size of the plant, but the taste of the tomatoes

Re: tomato plant

By allowing the plant to grow all over the place reduces the quality of taste and size of the tomato.

Re: tomato plant

Impressive Realspeed but I side with the others on size not being everything when it comes to juiciness.

So should you cut the tops or the sides? I've had both sets of advice. Not sure which to follow. The other advice I've had is that you should pull out the suckers, which are the little leaves sprouting in the corners of the stems.

Re: tomato plant

My three plants are doing well. I cut some tops off and yes, the leaves in the corners. I have 2 toms on one, and one on another. Think the third is lagging behind. Gave them a feed the other day.

Re: tomato plant

Here we have 57 tomatoes at various stages on about 6 or 7 plants.

Re: tomato plant

Just counted them on my best plant, and there are 52 at the moment, but more flowers at the top still to form fruits.
They are 'Gardeners Delight.'

Re: tomato plant

That's impressive Mups. I am sure that your tomatoes thrive just as your other beautiful plants & flowers.

I have spotted the first red tomato today. Thank you rain!
