IIRC, this was one of the first movies I watched on Sky satellite TV, probably about 1991. I was drawn by the "star" casting of Sam Neill, one of my favourite actors, in a three-handed yacht drama but was suitably impressed, in the watching, by "Ginger" Kidman and "Mad" Billy Zane.

I loved the yacht and the ocean photography, too, which was a good thing because the plot was thin and the action contrived. "Dead Calm" remains a favourite of mine despite its' faults .....

I enjoyed it too its a while ago now though...worth a 2nd viewing

Yes very good film made even more enjoyable by Kidmans pert bits
