Re: I've had my chest x-ray

No, I've been off the amytryptiline for a while; I only took that for nerve pain when I had Carpal Tunnels.

Beyond that, I still feel pretty ill - my chemo resumes next Wednesday and I hope I've got a little energy back by then. As it is, I can barely walk to my doctor's without being seriously out of breath and quite panicky.

I suppose the totality of everything - my cancer, the operations, the infections has taken its toll and left me exhausted; I just wish I could feel a little better.
Hi

I really feel for you Ffosse.

My health issues are minor compared to yours.

The new antibiotics are really knocking me about.

I feel quite humbled by the way you are dealing with things.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

I'm not doing that well.

After a week or 10 days of only being able to walk short distances before being out of breath and having to rest I got it checked out this afternoon. I phoned the specialty haemotology department and they arranged an ambulance for me. I was a bit fearful they would keep me in again so packed a few things.

My vitals were normal. They took 5 vials of blood which tested normal, then did an ECG and a chest x-ray which were both normal.

They explained that the antibiotics would have partly explained my complete fatigue and thankfully those are nearly over. But it's more the totality of what I've been through in the past 8, 9 weeks - surgery, chemotherapy, antibiotics, more surgery which has left me knackered.

If I want to go outside I"ll just have to take things very slowly and not get annoyed with myself if I'm walking very slowly or become breathless and have to stop. Still, my chemo restarts on Wednesday and I can't say I'm looking forward to it.

A friend has been urging me to order groceries online from Tesco, and while I know it makes sense I just can't bring myself to do it yet.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

I can see how your friend is trying to help Dreamy, online order then that is done.
There are some horrid viruses going around at the moment, so please be careful. I have an awful sore throat and do not feel good.
I would hate you to go down with a virus.

I can understand that you are dreading Wednesday.

Not so much dreading it, but I will ask them a few questions before treatment.

On Monday I see the nurse at my GPs who will look at my neck wound (should be the last time) and my GP is going to phone me.

I hope your neck is nicely healed Dreamy.
You have a good relationship with your GP, that must be a comfort.

Don’t be fearful for your chemo Ffosse, if you are well enough it will be another step towards recovery. They will give you all the drugs you need in case you feel unwell after, anti sickness and tummy troubles and will give you telephone numbers to ring if you need help.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

You've had so much on your plate the last two weeks, chemo, infection, antibiotics, a serious operation which could have left you paralysed, nil by mouth for too long. No wonder you're exhausted.

Like Sweetie, I hope you're healing well. I also hope you're getting enough nutritious food. You need to eat right to get your energy back and I don't know if anyone has invented a cancer/infection/antibiotic proof diet but maybe someone should think up a service where cancer patients can phone a number and someone will come over and cook them their favourite meal when they are at their lowest.
