Re: England - The New Dawn

The future looks even brighter for France who beat England and Turkey under 19's 5-0. When you look at Kylian Mbappe staring in the senior side at 19 you wonder what their secret is.

Re: England - The New Dawn

We need another Stan Matthews.

Goalkeeper gives him the ball deep in his own half.

Runs up the wing to the corner flag crosses the ball and we score...time after time

Yes you are right galty, rather than someone who gets given a perfect cross then fluffs it time after time.

I honestly believe that if our strikers had played one touch football instead of sodding about we could have won the World cup easily, particularly as most of the good teams were out. Whether we will get the chance again in four years time remains to be seen.

Thanks for that granddad. Back to the 40s and 50s, eh.

If we need any more "contributions" from you, we'll let you know.

Your posts often struggle Gravy boat. You need as many contributions as you can get.

Bloody good thread title though.

With the players they have coming through France could dominate for a few years.

Mbappe wasn't eligible - too old.

England had many many top quality players from top clubs who were eligible are not there, like for example: Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount, Jadon Sancho, Curtis Jones, Ryan Sessegnon, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock and Phil Foden

With a squad consisting mainly of lower league no-hopers it was no surprise we didn't make the last four - never mind RETAIN the title. This group can still qualify for the u20 World Cup that we HOLD as champions.

It's a new dawn breaking.
