However:-
Promoters of Britain’s new high-speed railway say that freight will benefit from more paths and capacity, freed up by the 80 billion British pounds (94 billion euros) project, but that may well depend on completing the northern phases of the line.
But;-
HS2 to be delayed by up to five years as cost spirals to up to £88bn
Parliament told first phase from London to Birmingham could be pushed back to 2031
Apparently freight will not be seen on the line until the northern section is completed....
You forgot that the 88bn is costed for up to now OGF
The projected cost to Manchester?? is presently at 106Bn and this
is an indefinite figure! With the recently proposed scottish extension
which was never envisaged before, it seems that HS2 Ltd thinks it
latched onto a never ending cotract to enrich themselves at
public exense??
