This one was also a challenge...a long time ago...Lasting Friendship
Just like our lives, many changes
With friends, as they move around,
But then, perhaps, maybe only once,
A lasting friendship is found.
No matter how you have met,
Right there from the start,
This person will have a special place
Deep within your heart.
Which lasts for years
Through everything,
The rough, the smooth,
Far distancing.
You'll hold on to this friendship,
The storms you'll both have weathered,
For friendship like this, in one lifetime,
Is a miracle to be treasured.

In a similar vein:-The Friendship Bracelet
Strands of purple silk,
a knot of soft black leather.
symbols of our friendship –
binding us together.
When your strong, gentle
fingers tied this on my wrist,
your eyes touched mine
and it felt like being kissed.
Strands of purple silk
tie you to my heart,
so wherever you may go
we will never be apart.
Friendships ties are lasting,
more so than any other,
they are strong and enduring
just like the soft black leather.
Strands of purple silk
bind you to my soul,
my spirit touching yours
keeps our friendship whole.
I’ll weep your tears, feel your pain,
share your joys and laughter.
karma linked to karma with
a knot of soft black leather.
The bracelet forms a circle
unbroken and without end,
yet another example of
what it means to be a friend.
Untouched by time or distance,
and lasting beyond forever –
bound in purple silk and
tied with soft black leather.
